Portishead Coastal Races (10k & 5k) Update

Portishead Running Club have been closely monitoring the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the guidance issued by both local and national authorities. It was our intention to delay making a decision until the last possible date to give the Coastal Races every chance of going ahead.

Unfortunately, the time has now come to make that decision and it will not surprise you to hear that sadly we will be cancelling this year’s race. The challenges and risks associated with staging such a race in the current climate are just too great, the health and safety of both runners and volunteers must take precedence over all other considerations.

Your entry has been automatically allocated to the next edition of the race on the 25th September 2021. Alternatively, our partners at Full on Sport can refund your entry fees, please contact us if you would rather be having a refund.

Race Director – Portishead Coastal 10K

Starts 10am on Saturday 25th September 2021 from Portishead Lido by the Lake Grounds in Portishead.

PARTICIPENT NUMBER: We have capped the number of entries to 400 online and the day we will provide an extra 50, on a first come basis.

BRIEF DETAILS: The 10km route includes mud, rocky tracks, hills, big views and an amazing cookie medal. Few race routes rival this for spectacular sea view scenery. What better way is there to start your weekend?

FACILITIES: Free parking along the Lake Grounds - Changing - Showers - Baggage Store - First Aid - Bar and Refreshments.

ENTRY FEES: ARC/UKA Affiliated - £12. Unaffiliated runners - £14.  

There will be places available on the day on the day for entry. prices are £13 affiliated and £15 unaffiliated.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR RUNNERS UNABLE TO RACE. HOWEVER, WE WILL ACCEPT REQUESTS TO TRANSFER RACE ENTRIES.

REGISTRATION: Race numbers will not be sent out, please collect your race number on the day from Race HQ at Portishead Lido (registration open from 8.30am onwards).

DIRECTIONS: Follow the signs to Portishead along the A369. From Bristol - then follow the direction to the Lake Grounds. The race HQ is located by Portishead Lido at the end of the Lake Grounds. See MAP.

HEADPHONES: the use of headphones during the race will not be permitted for safety reason.
